Staff Farewell and New Appointments

As Term 1 draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms Krystle Helps, who will soon begin her maternity leave. In her time as Head of Learning: SACE and Flexible Pathways, she has been a guiding presence for our students and a valued support for staff across the College. Her dedication, leadership, and compassion have made a meaningful difference, and we wish her all the very best as she prepares for this exciting and busy period.

Looking ahead to Term 2, we are pleased to welcome two new members to our academic leadership team:

Ms Tia Milohis, will be joining as Head of SACE.

For any SACE-related enquiries, you can contact her via tmilohis@cbc.sa.edu.au

Mr Joshua Roach will take on the role of Head of Learning – Flexible Pathways.

For queries related to EIF, AIF, Workplace Practices or support strategies, you can reach him at jbroach@cbc.sa.edu.au

Both bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student learning.

We look forward to the contribution they will make to our school community and their respective portfolios.

Year 12 Holiday Seminars

Families of Year 12 students would have recently received a direct message outlining the details of our upcoming holiday seminars, which will run over the break. These seminars, designed and led by Year 12 subject teachers, aim to provide targeted, subject-specific support and enrichment at a pivotal time in the academic year.

Some sessions will involve individual bookings to work on assessments, while others will provide opportunities to review examinable content, get ahead in the course, or make progress on external components of the subject. Each session is supervised and structured to ensure students get the most out of the time provided.

We strongly encourage our Year 12s to attend where possible. These seminars are an excellent way to:

  • Consolidate and deepen understanding of key content
  • Receive individualised feedback and direction
  • Prepare thoroughly for upcoming assessments and examinations
  • Reduce pressure during the term by getting ahead
  • Demonstrate commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence

With one of three terms now complete, the finish line is gradually drawing closer. Every moment counts, and these seminars offer students the chance to take charge of their learning and make the most of the time remaining.

Reporting Update for Years 7–11

We also take this opportunity to remind families that interim reports are no longer issued for students in Years 7 to 11, as part of a change introduced last year. Instead, students and families can look forward to receiving comprehensive semester-based reports at the end of next term, providing a more meaningful reflection of student growth, achievement, and areas for development.

Parent/Teacher Interviews – Year 7-12

We’d like to give families an early heads-up that our Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday, 12 May (Week 3, Term 2). This day will be a student-free day, set aside to allow meaningful conversations between families and your son’s subject teachers.

All interviews will be conducted via phone, offering flexibility and convenience for families. More details about how to book your interview times will be provided early next term. In the meantime, please save the date. We look forward to working in partnership with you to support your son’s learning journey.
